Eckhart Tolle
Eckhart Tolle reassures individuals that even brief moments of quiet awareness signify meaningful spiritual and mental progress. He explains that daily interruptions and life challenges should not be viewed as obstacles, but rather as portals to cultivate deeper presence.

You can sit quietly in a room and be completely there. Sounds, light, the feel of the chair, and a kind of spaciousness underneath it. Or you walk outside and something opens, and for a moment you are not the person you usually are, just the awareness perceiving all of it. Then the day starts, and within minutes you are gone. Eckhart Tolle addresses that gap directly, and he starts with something encouraging. If you can sit quietly in a room at all, you are already further along than most people, because most people cannot. They become uncomfortable almost immediately, or they are certain they would. He also takes the objection seriously. The world places continuous demands on your attention, and people say they cannot be present because life keeps pulling them into the next thing. Seen that way, modern life looks like an obstacle to all of this. His answer is that whatever life hands you in this moment is the material. Not the quiet room specifically. The interruption too. Each one is a potential opening, which is why he calls it a portal. He notes, gently, what usually forces the realisation. Something ends. Someone dies, and impermanence stops being a concept. But it does not have to take that. You can take whatever today brings and use it. Eckhart goes much further into this in the full session.
